Man arrested for threatening foreign nationals in Unawatuna

An individual has been arrested by the Unawatuna Tourist Police for allegedly threatening to assault a group of foreign children in the Unawatuna tourist zone in Galle.

The incident involved several foreign children, aged around 12 and 13, who were standing along a roadside when the suspect allegedly threatened to assault them, claiming that their presence was obstructing his business premises.

According to police, officers attached to the Unawatuna Tourist Police Post promptly responded to the incident and arrested the suspect at the scene.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Habaraduwa Police Station for further investigations.

He is scheduled to be produced before the Galle Magistrate's Court for further legal proceedings.
