The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has made prior appointments mandatory for all one-day services provided at its head office in Narahenpita, with the new system coming into effect from yesterday (02).
Accordingly, the public will only be able to obtain one-day services by securing an appointment in advance, the Department announced.
Appointments can be made by calling 117 116, using the relevant area telephone code, or through the department's official online appointment portal at https://dmtappointments.dmt.gov.lk.
The new arrangement applies to services including new vehicle registrations, transfers of vehicle ownership, issuance of driving licences and the resolution of technical issues, as well as all other one-day services.
The Department of Motor Traffic also requested customers to make an appointment through one of the designated channels before visiting its Narahenpita head office to obtain these services.
