172 returnees at Iranamadu SLAF quarantine centre leave for homes

A group of 172 quarantined passengers, who arrived on the island from India. have headed home this morning (04), says Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) media.

These passengers were directed to quarantine process at the facility operated by the SLAF in Iranamadu since their arrival on March 21.

The Quarantine Centre in Iranamadu was established on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, the SLAF media said.

The entire operation of this Quarantine Centre was managed by SLAF Station Iranamadu under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain UPYR Pathirana.

During their stay in Iranamadu, the passengers were provided with all meals, essential items including 4G internet, the release issued by the SLAF mentioned. The passengers were monitored on a 24-hour basis by SLAF medical personnel in order to maintain and make sure to be free from infection of COVID-19.

The passengers will have to undergo two more weeks of self-quarantine, it read further.
