42 navy men among coronavirus cases confirmed yesterday

Sri Lanka has detected 48 positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday (04) as the infections count moved up to 1,797, says the Department of Government Information.

Out of this total, 42 have been confirmed from Sri Lanka Navy – 32 from Kandakadu Quarantine Centre (QC), 3 from Oluvil QC, 5 from Iyakachchi QC, one from Mihintale QC and another navy man under quarantine.

The remaining 6 patients are imported cases – 3 returnees from India at Katukeliyawa QC, one returnee from Dubai at Giragama QC and 2 returnees from Bangladesh at Wadduwa and Diyatalawa QCs.

A total of 947 patients infected with Covid-19 are currently under medical care at hospitals while 839 patients have recovered and have been discharged.
