Police fire tear gas to disperse student protesters in Peradeniya

Peradeniya Police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a protest march in Peradeniya, a short while ago.

The protest march has reportedly been organized by a group of students representing the students’ union of Peradeniya University, demanding the release of all university students who are remanded in custody, including the President of the students’ union.
