Two minor tremors felt in Sri Lanka

Two minor tremors have been reported in eastern and southern parts of Sri Lanka since last evening, according to the Geological Survey & Mines Bureau (GSMB).

The first minor tremor with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale was felt at around 6.46 p.m. last evening (March 18) in Palatupana, Kirinda at a depth of 10km.

Meanwhile, the second minor quake, measured at a magnitude of 3.0, was reported at around 3.30 a.m. this morning. It was felt in Gomarankadawala of Timbiriwewa area at a depth of more than 10km.
