Veteran Sri Lankan cartoonist Camillus Perera, the creator of the iconic cartoon character ‘Gajaman’ has passed away this morning (17), according to family sources.

He was 84 years old at the time of passing.

Perera began work as a cartoonist in 1966 developing characters for the Observer and “Dekkoth Pathmawathi” for Lake House’s film magazine.
