Sajith files petition seeking to reduce electricity tariffs

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has filed a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition before the Supreme Court requesting for an order to reduce the current electricity tariffs, Ada Derana reporter said.

Meanwhile, a group including the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), the Minister of Power and Energy, the Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy has been named as the respondents of the relevant petition, according to the reporter.
