Tear gas fired at protesting uni students in Colombo

UPDATE (4.58 p.m.) : Police have used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesting students near the Colombo University, a short while ago.

Earlier, it was reported that the road in front of the University of Colombo has reportedly been closed to traffic due to a protest by a group of university students. 

Ada Derana reporter said that severe traffic congestion has been reported in the area due to the protest march launched by the students’ union of the university.
