Issuance of excise licenses has not been suspended, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has asserted.

He pointed out that the relevant authorities have been instructed to carry out the excise licenses issuance activities under a proper procedure.

In response to the recent reports claiming that issuing excise license has been halted, the State Minister mentioned that the relevant licenses are issued only in compliance with the rules and regulations accepted by the Parliament, after considering the call for objections and objections from the local residents.

“The court has specifically said that licenses should be issued only on based on the rules and regulations approved by the Parliament. It is not a suspension of excise licenses. It is a very good decision. We are already following it.”
