Laugfs Gas prices to remain unchanged for June

Laugfs Gas PLC announced that the company will not revise domestic LP gas prices for the month of June and will hold domestic LPG prices steady despite global cost pressure and rupee devaluation.

Accordingly, for the Colombo District, the current prices of Laugfs domestic LP gas cylinders are as follows;

  • 12.5 kg cylinder - Rs. 6,245
  • 05 kg cylinder – Rs. 2500

Issuing a statement, the company highlighted that global LPG industry continues to face significant challenges arising from geopolitical uncertainties, fluctuations in international commodity prices, supply chain disruptions, elevated freight costs, and rupee devaluation. These developments have increased the landed cost of LPG imports across many markets worldwide, it said.

However, it said that recognizing the importance of LPG as an essential household energy source for millions of Sri Lankan families, LAUGFS Gas has taken proactive measures to optimize its supply chain an operational efficiencies in order to absorb a significant portion of these cost pressures without passing the burden on to domestic consumers at this time, the company further noted.

Meanwhile, earlier today (05), the Litro Gas Company also announced that it has decided not to make any revisions to domestic Litro LP gas prices for the month of June.
