The supply of water will be suspended for four hours today (22) in the Kandy District due to essential maintenance work being carried out at the Kandy Main Water Supply Project, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced.
Accordingly, water supply will be interrupted from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. within the Rajapihilla, Medawala (Old), Medawala (New) and Galagedara service areas as well as the Mawathagama service area.
Rajapihilla Service Area:
Uduwawala, Polwatta Road, Wasgewatta, Uda Bokkawala, Palle Bokkawala, Balagolla, Hapugoda, Pattiyawatta, Rajapihilla, Attaragama, Ullandupitiya Road and Attaragama Dekinda Road.
Medawala (Old) Service Area:
Gonigoda, Jayanthi Road, Gurukate, Palkumbura, Idamegama, Gorokgasanga Road, Kotutenna, Pethiyagodawatta, Kaluwana, Kumburegedara, Dembaralowa and Thibbutta.
Medawala (New) Service Area:
Batugoda, Diddeniya, Ovissa, Watagoda, Dombagammana, Hedeniyа, Ambaruppa, Harankahawa, and Bokkawala.
Galagedara Service Area:
Galagedara, Webada, areas around Boyagoda, Rambukkana Road, Poholiyadda Road and Kurunegala Road.
Mawathagama Service Area:
Mawathagama, Barandana Road and surrounding areas.
The NWSDB requested consumers in these areas to store sufficient water in advance and apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption.
