51-year-old man drowns in Nayaru Beach
A 51-year-old man has died after drowning while bathing in the sea at Nayaru Beach in Mullaitivu.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Achchuveli, police said.
According to preliminary investigations, the deceased had been residing in Canada and had returned to Sri Lanka. He had been on an excursion with a group of family members and friends when the incident had occurred.
Mullaitivu Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
