Former Fisheries Corporation Chairman Maheel Senaratne arrested

Former Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation (2010–2012), Maheel Senaratne, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

 

The arrest was made in connection with allegations that proper procurement procedures were not followed in relation to the establishment and maintenance of fish sales centres across the island.

 

Maheel Senaratne, the brother of former Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratne, served as Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation from 2010 to 2012.
