
The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has taken steps to destroy a stock of substandard veterinary medicines worth over Rs. 3 million.
During a special operation jointly conducted by the CAA and the Department of Animal Production and Health, authorities seized 1,090 kilograms of illegal and substandard veterinary medicines.
Following the discovery, steps were taken to destroy the relevant stock at the Kerawalapitiya Waste Disposal Plant.
The CAA stated that the full cost incurred for destroying the medicines was also recovered from the manufacturer of the relevant medicines.
