A police officer assigned to provide security at the temple of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero in Rajagiriya has been found dead in a suspected suicide incident.
It is reported that the police constable was found dead with a gunshot wound and is suspected to have shot himself with his service firearm.
The 36-year-old officer had reportedly been suffering from an illness for several days prior to today’s incident.
