Two more suspects who allegedly aided and abetted the recent shooting to death of a person on Huludagoda Road in Mount Lavinia have been arrested by the Mount Lavinia Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.

 

The shooting occurred on August 15, when two individuals arrived at the scene on a motorcycle, opened fire on the victim and subsequently fled, prompting an investigation by the Mount Lavinia Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.

 

Acting on information received by investigating officers, the two suspects were arrested on the night of August 19 in the Temples Road area within the Mount Lavinia Police Division and subsequently handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police Station.

 

Police stated that the suspects, aged 20 and 23, are residents of the Mount Lavinia area.

 

It has also been revealed that one of the suspects had allegedly aided and abetted a previous shooting incident on Sylvester Road in Mount Lavinia on May 5, 2025.

 

Accordingly, several individuals, including the main suspect and a female suspect, have been arrested in connection with the case so far.

 

Following their production before court, the suspects were remanded until August 28.

 

Further investigations are being conducted by the Mount Lavinia Police.
