
Sri Lanka’s overall inflation rate, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, increased to 7.2% in July 2026, up from 6.5% recorded in June 2026, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
The Department stated that the year-on-year inflation rate for the food category rose to 4.9% in July 2026 from 3.3% in June 2026. Meanwhile, non-food inflation increased to 9.2% in July 2026, compared to 9.3% recorded in the previous month.
