Police arrest suspect wanted over Minuwangoda shooting

A suspect wanted in connection with a recent shooting and murder reported in the Minuwangoda Police Division has been arrested, police said.

 

Minuwangoda Police had launched investigations into the shooting incident which had occurred on August 13, 2025.

 

Accordingly, based on information received by investigating officers, the suspect who allegedly acted as the motorcycle rider involved in the crime was arrested last night (21) in the Galoluwa area of Minuwangoda.

 

Police also seized 11 grams and 150 milligrams of ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) found in his possession at the time of the arrest.

 

The suspect has been identified as a 35-year-old resident of the Minuwangoda area.

 

Minuwangoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
