
Sri Lanka’s expressways have generated a record revenue of over Rs. 355 million during the five-day holiday period last week, according to Road Development Authority (RDA) Director General, Anuradha Hettiarachchi.
Meanwhile, the Authority says it earned over Rs. 408 million from vehicles travelling on the expressways during the past week alone.
It said a total of 1,095,895 vehicles travelled on the Southern Expressway, Colombo–Katunayake Expressway, Colombo Outer Circular Highway and Central Expressway between August 24 and 30, 2026.
