Businessman arrested over 420kg ‘Ice’ drug haul found in Colombo Port

A businessman from Dematagoda has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a large consignment of narcotics inside a container at the Colombo Port.

 

Police said approximately 420 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) had been recovered during the raid.

 

The operation was carried out based on information received by the authorities and following a court order.

 

Investigations have revealed that the drug consignment had been brought into Sri Lanka from Pakistan, concealed inside towels packed in a container.
