
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 24-hour suspension of the water supply in several areas of Colombo from tomorrow (03) due to essential maintenance work at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
The water supply will be suspended from 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (03) until 8:00 p.m. on Friday (04).
The affected areas include Nugegoda, Kohuwala, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Soysapura, Angulana, Indibedda, Katubedda, Kaldemulla, Mutwal, Koralawella, Egoda Uyana and Katukurunda.
The interruption will also affect Sethsiripaya, Himbutana, Udumulla Road, Maliga Godella, Bank Junction Road, W. A. Silva Mawatha, Havelock Road, Kalyani Road, Colombo 06, Hospital Roundabout Road, Jayanthi Mawatha and Shanthi Mawatha.
According to the NWSDB, the maintenance work is being carried out to improve the quality of the water supply.
The Board has urged consumers in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the 24-hour interruption and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
