The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs has urged parents and others to refrain from subjecting children to punishment or psychological abuse based on their Grade 5 Scholarship Examination results.
The Ministry also requested that the media and social media users refrain from publicising examination results in a manner that could cause embarrassment, distress or discomfort to children.
The Ministry warned that such conduct constitutes an offence punishable under laws relating to child abuse, and that the maximum possible legal action will be taken against those who engage in such acts.
