
The elderly allowance for August 2026 is scheduled to be credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries today (3), with payments being made to senior citizens aged over 70 under the Aswesuma Welfare Benefit Payment Scheme.
Accordingly, a total of Rs. 3.091 billion is to be paid as the elderly allowance to 618,352 senior citizens aged over 70 who are covered under the first phase of the Aswesuma programme, the Welfare Benefits Board stated.
Meanwhile, Rs. 391.3 million is scheduled to be credited today to the Aswesuma bank accounts of 78,260 senior citizens aged over 70 who are covered under the second phase of the programme.
Eligible beneficiaries will be able to withdraw their allowance payments from their Aswesuma bank accounts starting today.
