41 suspects including 5 females arrested after police raid drug-fuelled party in Teldeniya

A total of 41 suspects, including five women, have been arrested by Teldeniya Police after raiding an illegal “Facebook party” in the Victoria area of Teldeniya, during which illicit narcotics were also seized.

 

The party organised through social media has been raided in the Victoria area of Teldeniya.

 

The raid was carried out by a team of officers from the Teldeniya Police Station based on information received by the police.

 

Upon inspection, police had recovered 947 milligrams of cannabis, 3 grams and 657 milligrams of hashish, 1 gram and 276 milligrams of 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine), 18 ecstasy pills, 21 illicit cigarettes, 35 cans of beer and 13 bottles of arrack from the possession of the suspects.

 

The arrested male suspects, aged between 21 and 40, are residents of Gelioya, Aluthwatta, Warakapola, Peradeniya, Ampitiya, Kandy and Hanguranketha.

 

The five female suspects, aged between 22 and 43, are residents of Pallekele, Peradeniya, Hanguranketha, Dehiwala and Katugastota, police said.
