One-year-old girl dies after being run over by grandfather’s cab in Kilinochchi

A one-year-old girl has died after being run over by a cab driven by her grandfather in the Sivanagar area of Uruthirapuram, Kilinochchi.
The incident had occurred when the grandfather was reversing the vehicle, which had been parked in the garden of their home. The child had reportedly approached the vehicle at the time and was run over by one of its wheels.
The girl, who sustained critical injuries in the accident, was taken to the Kilinochchi Hospital. However, hospital sources said she had already succumbed to her injuries before she was admitted.
The body has been handed over to the relatives following a post-mortem examination.
Kilinochchi Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
