Man arrested with cocaine and cash in Wellawatte

A 31-year-old man has been arrested with cocaine and a sum of cash during a raid carried out by officers of the Colombo District Crime Division in Wellawatte yesterday (23).

 

Police said the raid was conducted based on information received by the officers at a housing complex in the Wellawatte Police Division.

 

During the operation, officers seized 10 grams and 230 milligrams of cocaine, along with Rs. 66,230 in cash allegedly suspected to have been earned through drug trafficking, as well as foreign currency.

 

The suspect is a 31-year-old resident of Wellawatte.

 

Further investigations are being conducted by the Colombo District Crime Division.
