‘SLNS Samudravijaya’ commissioned in Colombo…

The commissioning ceremony of the deep-sea patrol vessel ‘SLNS Samudravijaya’, gifted to the Sri Lanka Navy by the United States Coast Guard to enhance its operational capabilities, was held on Thursday (4) at the Eastern Terminal premises of the Port of Colombo under the patronage of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The vessel was officially handed over to Sri Lanka by the United States Coast Guard on December 2, 2025, and after modifications to meet Sri Lanka Navy operational requirements, the vessel commenced its voyage to Colombo on February 20, 2026, from the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Maryland.
