The young Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis accordingly brought up his maiden hundred in Test cricket.

He added 102 runs to Sri Lanka’s scorecard when his wicket was picked up by Nahid Rana at the end of 56.3 overs. The 25-year-old is standing in just his second Test and the first one in nearly 20 months.

Meanwhile, Dhananjaya de Silva brought up his maiden Test hundred as Sri Lanka’s skipper. The veteran touched the three-figure mark registering his overall 11th Test ton.
