* US sees market growth in the healthcare market in Sri Lanka

Markss Healthcare (Markss HLC) one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka partnered DemeTech Corporation, an American manufacturer of surgical sutures and blades headquartered in Miami, FL, USA, Dr. S. Mahakalanda Medical Director of Markss HLC said.


The signing of the MoU was between Rajiv Nanayakkara, Managing Director of MARKSS HLC (Pvt) Limited and Jonathan Hulme, Sales Director for the Asia Pacific region of DemeTech Corporation. The partnership launched a new range of products catering to Sri Lanka at the Annual Academic Sessions of the College of Surgeons held recently at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.


Commenting on the partnership Rajiv Nanayakkara Managing Director said, “Through this partnership we hope to reiterate our commitment towards the Sri Lankan market introducing state of the art medical products to our country, DemeTech is able to provide sutures of paramount quality at a lower and more reasonable cost. The future of Sri Lanka is promising and we assure the very best to our market which is flourishing.”


The partnership focuses on importing and marketing the highest quality pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, medical and surgical equipment and devices to the Sri Lankan market.


Jonathan Hulme, Sales Director – Asia Pacific Region DemeTech Corporation said, “DemeTech Corporation has prided itself on truly being a made to order suture manufacture. DemeTech currently manufactures over 2 million combinations of sutures. Today, we would like to formally announce the development of DemeTech’s PLUS line and M line sutures. Each specific market, doctor, and ultimately each surgery, require a different suture with a specific performance. DemeTech’s PLUS line and M line have been manufactured to meet the highest performance requirements. DemeTech’s PLUS Line is characterized by an improvement to the following needle characteristics”.
