An unbeaten Trinity College Kandy clinched the 2025 Inter-Schools Rugby League Title with one game to spare after defeating Wesley College Colombo 23-21 at the Pallekele Trinity College Rugby Stadium this evening (2).
Trinity College wins the league after 38 long years and managed to claim the title as unbeaten champions.

Despite the home advantage, Trinity could not penetrate the Wesley defence in the opening quarter of the game.

Trinitians hit back with a try within five minutes.
However, Wesley led 7-5 at lemons.
The Trinity side started the second half strongly and in the 37th minute of the game Akash Fernando scored the second try for the home team.
With the try Trinity took the lead for the first time this evening with scoreline reading 12-07.
Shrayan Sathishkumar scored through a brilliant blindside move in the 45th minute of the encounter to stretch the lead further.
Trinitians went onto convert a penalty and playmaker Shan Althaf put over a drop kick in the latter part of the game to build a substantial cushion between the two title rivals.
Although Wesley scored two tries in the last 10 minutes, they could not stop Trinity College Kandy from winning the Schools Rugby League tournament for the first time since the Tyrrell Rajapakse-led side claimed the coverted title in 1987.
