Yatawatte PS chairman, others remanded till Sept. 2

The chairman of the Yatawatte Pradeshiya Sabha in Matale who surrendered to Police and eight others accused of abducting some suspects for attacking a florist yesterday were ordered to be remanded till September 2 by the Matale magistrate’s court.
The PS chairman Lal Attanayake and others have been allegedly responsible for abducting three suspects arrested by Police over an attack on a florists yesterday (August 19) and assaulting them. Attanayake and the others had surrendered to police after one suspect was arrested yesterday.
These suspects have reportedly abducted the three accused of attacking the florist while they were being held at the Yatawatte police check point. The suspects were produced before courts today and remanded till August 2, according to police.
