The release of the locally manufactured BTI bacteria in three selected areas of the Colombo District today has been postponed according to the Deputy Minister of Health, Mahinda Amaraweera.

 

Mahinada Amaraweera said that the bacteria has to be checked for any kind of side effects by the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) and will be released only after they submit a full report.

 

 

The locally manufactured BTI bacteria which is designed to combat dengue mosquitoes was scheduled to be released today in three selected areas in Colomboand also next Wednesday.
