Curfew re-imposed in North Western Province and Gampaha

Police curfew will be re-imposed tonight in the Gampaha Police Division and the North Western Province, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Speaking at a press briefing, he said that the curfew will imposed from 7.00 p.m. today to 4.00 a.m. tomorrow (16).

Police curfew had been imposed on the entire North Western Province owing to a tense situation on Sunday.

However, the curfew was lifted for two hours and was re-enforced for another 12-hour period. 

Accordingly, the curfew had been lifted at 6.00 a.m. this morning (15).
