Protest over sackings...

The Ceylon Electricity Board Joint Trade Union Alliance launched an indefinite strike today (July 6) in protest of the sacking of several CEB employees who engaged in a token strike on July 4. Committee member of the Alliance, Ranjan Jayalal stated that the strike will continue until the employees are reinstated to their posts and that employees will report to work in black clothing as a sign of protest.
