Jaffna university students protest against security officials’ threat

A protest was carried out by the students from the University of Jaffna today (28). The protest was organized after some security officials had entered the university premises and had threatened two students there by displaying weapons yesterday (27). 


The police arrived to stop the protest. The situation turned intense and one student was also admitted to the Jaffna training hospital. The chairperson of the student union from the university, Bhavanandan stated that the security officials started attacking the students. It is reported that the situation has now turned peaceful.
