Environment and Natural Resources Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, who is contesting the parliamentary elections from the Colombo District under the People’s Alliance ticket, today stared a campaign to promote his preference number. While promoting his preference number Ranawaka also tied up activities to commemorate the International Year of Biodiversity. He attended 17 places, planted 17 varieties of saplings in 17 places in Colombo, carried out a programme with 17 cyclists(pictured above) to the parliament grounds and seeked blessings from 17 Buddhist monks.
