Plans drafted for Mattala industrial park…

Initial discussions were held yesterday (8) to discuss and indentify lands that can be utilized for the proposed industrial park centered in Mattala, Hambanthota.  

The discussions were held in the presence of Cabinet Minister of Lands and Parliament affairs Gayantha Karunathilaka, Cabinet Minister of Law and Order & Southern Development Sagala Ratnayaka and several high ranking officials who were invited to sit on the project committee. 

It was decided to form a committee including the Secretary to the Hambantota District and top officials from the Ministries of Lands, Wildlife, Mahaweli and Urban Development projects to compile a report of land areas that can be utilized or acquired for the project.  

The next phase of discussions is to be held once the report has been compiled by the aforementioned committee.
