President Maithripala Sirisena on Wednedsay (Dec. 06) laid the foundation stone for the National Nephrology Specialized Hospital in Polonnaruwa, gifted by the People’s Republic of China to be constructed at a cost of Rs.12,000 million. The hospital is to be Asia’s biggest kidney hospital and will be built at 28th Post, closed to Polonnaruwa General Hospital. It is significant this hospital is fully sponsored by the Chinese government.
