Colombo-Batticaloa highway caves in…

Part of the road near 7th Mile post in Habarana on Colombo-Batticaloa highway has caved in due to the heavy rainfall received by Habarana area last night (22).

Accordingly the traffic flow of the road has been restricted to one lane as per order of the police.

Reportedly, the cave in had occurred at around 7 pm last night and nearly 10-15 meters of one side of the road had sunken in.

Officers of the Road Development Authority are currently working towards restoring the road to allow vehicular movement on the road.
