President Sirisena in China…

President Maithripala Sirisena recently left for China to take part in the Conference on Asian Civilizations Dialogue held yesterday (15).

Addressing the conference, he has explained the current situation of the country and the positive steps to be taken for the country’s future, as well as the operations carried out by the security forces under his instructions to defeat the motives of the extremists and to strengthen the law and order situation.

President Sirisena met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, who assured to render support to Sri Lanka to eradicate terrorism and to ensure the country’s security.

The President also held discussions with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang yesterday (15).

During the President’s recent visit, China and Sri Lanka entered into three significant agreements on the mega-investments done by China in Sri Lanka and providing Chinese assistance for the national security of Sri Lanka.
