The Seventh Derana Lux Film Awards 2019 was held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo last night with a host of awards being presented to artists and creators alike at the glittering ceremony, which was graced by Sri Lanka’s biggest celebrities and stars.
- Best Film: “According to Matthew” - Sri Lankan English film directed by the veteran filmmaker Chandran Rutnam
- Best Actor: Darshan Dharmaraj - “Porisadaya”
- Best Actress: Anoma Janadari - “Davena Vihagun” (Burning Birds)
- Best Screenplay: Jayantha Chandrasiri - “Gara Sarapa”
- Best Film Director: Sanjeewa Pushpakumara - “Davena Vihagun” (Burning Birds)
- Highest Grossing Film of the Year 2018: “Bimba Devi Alias Yashodhara” by Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne
- Best Supporting Actress: Samanali Fonseka
- Best Supporting Actor: Mahendra Perera
- Most Popular Actor: Jackson Anthony
- Most Popular Actress: Udari Warnakulasuriya
