Defence Secretary & Army Chief at Zion Church…

Secretary to the Ministry of Defence General (Rtd) Shantha Kottegoda, together with the Commander of the Army and Senior Officers visited the Zion Church, Batticaloa yesterday (10) in order to inspect the progress of the construction being carried out by Army troops.

Lieutenant Colonel Nandika Abeysekara - Commanding Officer, 3 Engineer Service Regiment in charge of the re-construction site has briefed the visiting Secretary Defence on the present status of the construction and how such work is being conducted.

He has also instructed the troops to expedite the progress and facilitate the resumption of prayer services as early as possible.
