War victim commemorations…

May 18, 2020

A program to commemorate victims of the civil war was held today (18) at Wellamulliwaikkal with the participation of a limited number of persons. Former Tamil National Alliance MP Charles Nirmalanathan also participated in the commemorations.

However, a group including former Northern Province Chief Minister C. V. Wigneswaran, on route to Mullaitivu from Jaffna for the commemorations, had been turned back by security forces, stated former Northern Provincial Council member M. K. Sivajilingam.

Upon their return to Jaffna, the group attended a commemoration program organized at Chemmanai. Photos by: Madawa Kulasooriya
