Nishantha, if all what you say is true still he has no right to betray the army and the country to achieve his political ambitions. This is treason. Do you agree that he is a fool of highest grade to be duped by the JVP clowns. JVP was sinking at the time and they were waiting to hang on to any straw that came their way and then came the hero SF. Yes he was a hero as the Army Commander, now he is a "zero" as a politician. On the other hand you are trying to imply that SF won the war all alone. I said it before and I say it now. Even with MR as the president and SF as Army Commander still we would not have won the war if GR was not the Defence Secretary. He was the one who brought all forces together as one. Without the participation of all forces SF would not have achieved anything, except helping Danuna. In fact SF wanted to continue in the same path after the war and that was the reason for the split between SF and GR.

No one is perfect, but He is a true lion , it is his vision , capabilities and courage had Won us our freedom from ending 30year of war ,people who dose´nt have the curtsy to admit that, are the traitors of the country. and for them i am telling this , it is time to see things beyond the political preference and colour of the party , as srilankens we all should have a at least a bit of a respect for what he has done to the country, i urge people to see things with fact, if people cant see the truth by what is Mr And Gr doing to this person i believe thous people are just blind but suckers of MR and GR not more than that. derana at least please publish this.

Traitors are living in comfort outside at Temple trees and connected residences, enjoying perks that they dont deserve. Terrorists who killed innocent boarder villagers, civilians and most of all our brave soldiers are MPs and top politicos, living lavishly and also, are forces are compelled to salute to them too. The hard core terrorists captured are probably being pardoned. KP, who still probably is discussing with his people as to how LTTE could survive is a VIP every where, while........this man who saved us all from the terrorists...being kept in jail. @Nishantha, he did not do the war alone, he was supported by all 3 forces, are you saying he commanded Navy.Air force and STF/Police also.It was a team work with the political leadership from President, Administration leadership from Gotabaya and the support from public etc.If he was not provided with everything he requested (funds /resources) do you think his strategic plans could have been carried out.It was his fault to entering politics and he is not suitalbe for the politics at all.True that he has given leadership to the Army to win the battle but it was a entirely a TEAM WORK.

Due to the extraordinary greediness and uncontrollable mouth of the General, he has become Zero. It is very ashamed to see what the govermentr is doing, you all aware that KP and Karuna who did masacres while they were in LTTE. and even KP was arrested after the war is over.but now he is helping to the government with Karuna They also should produced to the court as they bruterly masssacred the people .But SF who actively participated in war to sweep the LTTE to protect mother is now under custody.I know one day people will come to know who is correct and who did wrong. the government should take action to release him and get him also to involve for development of the country.

Classic example of hero to zero. One can be a leader in military who follow orders unquestionbly. But civil society is not military. If one does not control bad behaviour, anger and mouth then end up in missary. Power hunger of Fonseka put him to this poor status.

One time fighting soldier, sold his soul, reputation and country to get mean political gain. He was my hero too, till he made a fool of himself exposing his true character during election time. Now some political jokers will argue how come KP, Karuana, Devanda are enjoying life when this Army leader in jail. KP, Karuna are terrorist if not surrendered would have been killed by now by our forces. They entered the democazy denoucing violence and accepting unitory status. If not they are dead by now. Terroist can not betray country. They can only kill. But SF who fought war with the support of brave soldiers and under the leadership of Gota and Mahinda, simply betrayed my country with white flag story. SF´s conduct during election time was appallent. Fortunately nearly 6 million people rejected him. Otherwise my country would have pluged to military rule and anrchy. Terrorist can change and become a civilian. But armey leader who was a hero can not become a traitor and then turn normal. Not acceptable.

SF had 40 years military experience. SF has seen that Eelam war A to Z. He knew all the tactics of Prabhakaran. After appointed as Army Commander he prepared SL army for war. He created discipline in the army. Then SF realized that War must conduct without political influence.
