Notorious drug kingpin ‘Makandure Madush’ shot dead

One of Sri Lanka’s most wanted criminals and drug lords ‘Makandure Madush’ has been shot dead in a crossfire between police and other suspected underworld figures at Maligawatte Housing Complex. 

After uncovering information regarding a heroin consignment hidden at the Maligawatte Housing Complex, officers of the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) had visited that location along with Makandure Madush, where they reportedly came under a gunfire attack by suspected underworld figures and drug traffickers.

Madush and two officers of the CCD were shot in the crossfire that ensued. However, the infamous gangster later succumbed to injuries.
