Indian High Commissioner visits Gangaramaya…

January 28, 2021

Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr Gopal Baglay engaged in religious observances at the scarred Gangaramaya Temple and handed over meals to devotees at the Temple today (January 28). He also sought the blessings of Ven. Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thero.

His visit to the temple was followed by the ceremonious delivery of COVISHIELD Covid-19 vaccines from India to Sri Lanka at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

The vaccine consignment arrived in Sri Lanka on the auspicious Duruthu Poya Day, which marks Gautama Buddha’s momentous first visit to the island nation.
