April 5, 2021

Sri Lanka today (April 05) commenced its Sinopharm inoculation drive, prioritizing Chinese nationals residing in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka received 600,000 doses of the China-origin COVID-19 vaccine as a donation from Chinese President Xi Jinping at the request of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. It is yet to be determined whether this vaccine will be given to Sri Lankan nationals as well.

State Minister of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana visited a vaccination center that administrated Sinopharm vaccination to Chinese nationals in Sri Lanka.
