The National People’s Power (NPP) today (26 Feb.) staged a protest against the government, demanding the holding of the 2023 Local Government elections without delay.
Police had fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse the group of protesters, while the road leading from the Nelum Pokuna Theatre towards Town Hall was also completely blocked due to the protest.
