Eid-al-Fitr celebration in Colombo…

The Muslim community in Sri Lanka celebrated Eid-al-Fitr festival on Monday (31) after the new crescent moon was sighted the previous night. Eid al-Fitr is a “festival of breaking the fast” and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The festival is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
